Many countries use the metric system (which is a very good system). In some cases, like baby milk, using ounces is easier: one ounce corresponds to one dose of powdered milk.
In this case, you only need to remember one figure:
"I need 7 oz of water and 7 doses of milk"
instead of
"I need 210ml of water and 7 doses of milk powder"
